Leadership in Environmental Action for the Future has been promoting environmental improvement initiatives and awareness about the environment since 2017. It includes student members and two faculty coordinators from different departments of DTC.
It works towards bringing forward the day to day issues related to the environment with the help of different events organized by student members of the society. Recently students organised Junkyard-Model Design competition with the theme Plastic free environment and come out with the many wonderful ideas for environmental conservation. LEAF Club celebrated World Ozone Day by launching a Plantation Drive in the campus on Sept. 16, 2019. The students selected the empty ground in the campus. The drive was taken with all seriousness to motivate students towards environmental conservation. Even our gardeners also taught us how to plant them and then they watered the plants. The students had planted various types of plants some of them are Neem, Mango, Guava, Cycus, Periwinkle, Basil, Ashoka and Portulaca saplings. The Chairperson, Dean and many other teachers were present in the occasion and they planted numerous trees. The slide show of ozone layer depletion was also presented in the college for the general awareness of students and staff members.
