“There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.”
A Community is a group of individuals connected to each other by one or more attribute(s). The element that links them together is at the core, and is the essence of the group. Just as denoted by the root and the suffix of the word (common-unity), a certain segment of the population is united by a familiar thread. A community is a recognizable strand used to bring people together to advocate and support each other in the fight to overcome those threats. As human beings, we need a sense of belonging, and that sense of belonging is what connects us to the many relationships we develop.
Community Outreach Programmes
The Community Connect Project is a continuous program of Delhi Technical Campus. Through the project, the Institute, complete with its staff and students, embraces the responsibility towards the community and environment (both ecological and social) in which it operates. It endeavors to make a positive contribution to the society. A wide range of activities are covered in the project to encourage staff and students in volunteering, and supporting worthy social causes etc. Few of such activities were carried out by our Institute, which are as follows;

To continue positive efforts in this direction, our Institute organized a Blood Donation camp in association with Rotary Club Noida and Inner Wheel Delhi on 3rd Oct 2018. The camp was organized to help the noble cause of Blood Donation. The Staff and Students were notified in advance and names of the interested donors were taken by the Event – Coordinators. The camp started at 10:00 a.m in the morning. Our Honorable Chairman Mr. Vipin Sahni served as a source of great encouragement by being the first donor. He also addressed the students about the importance and benefits of blood donation. Honorable Chairperson Mrs. Kiran Sahni, also motivated the students and revealed the benefits of blood donation. The faculty members also participated actively in this noble cause. A team of Doctors checked the blood group and Hemoglobin of each and every Donor. All those who donated blood were awarded Certificates and Memento along with the refreshments. The Team of Doctors thanked our Faculty Members and Students for their co-operation and congratulated DTC Family for donating 141 units of blood and making this drive a great success.
On 4th Nov 2018, Students and Faculty Members of Delhi Technical Campus Greater Noida visited an Old age home, Anand Niketan Vridh Sewashram of Jan Kalyan Trust at Noida. Old age home have its pleasures, which though different, are not less than the pleasures of youth. It was an opportunity for us to share the joy and peace of Diwali with them. We the DTC Family consisting of faculty, staff and students along with the generous Chairpersons gifted them a LG 300 L Refrigerator. The sparkle in their eyes was hard to miss as their hearts was filled with joy on receiving this gift. They appreciated the fact that the young generation is taking interest and coming to spend a little time with the old people here in this old age home. It is a great initiative taken by the college authorities and the students. They blessed the DTC family and asked us to pay them another visit soon. Before this, our students had never been to an old age home, so we were wondering what it would be like. The inmates were very hospitable and friendly, and they welcomed us with their beautiful smiles. Though we spent only a few hours with them, they made us realize the value of our grandparents and the tenderness with which we need to take care of them. The children realized that love for their family, particularly their grandparents has grown stronger and deeper. It was really a poignant experience for all the students to visit the old age home and interact with its inmates. This visit was a huge learning experience for the young citizens and after spending only a few hours with them, the students vowed to do something for senior citizens and contribute towards the betterment of their condition.
To inculcate values in students and to continue positive efforts in this direction, Cloth Donation Drive were organised on 22nd Nov 2018, in association with Goonj NGO. Students and staff have actively participated in Cloth Donation Drive. All winter clothes were donated via drop boxes put at each block of institute. All boxes were sent to Delhi Public World School, sister concern of DTC. Volunteers from NGO Goonj visited school and collected cloths. The collected material would be used by Goonj to trigger large scale work on water, sanitation, infrastructure, agriculture, education and rehabilitation with rural communities in villages of India.Overall it was really a poignant experience for all the students.
Delhi Technical Campus celebrated the Diwali Mela on 2 November 2018. The Institute witnessed the enchanting beauty of thoughts and spirits that define Diwali! The Mela was inaugurated by the Chairperson Mrs.Kiran Sahni. All decorations were done by the students which made the campus look even more beautiful. The Mela set the students in cheerful mood before taking a break for the upcoming festival. The extravaganza witnessed a variety of delicious food stalls, games, challenges and cultural performances to bedazzle you. To top it all, the students vouched to donate all their proceeds to towards a social cause.The major attraction of the day was a stall of handmade materials like lamp shades, jewellery boxes, paper bags, painted diyas, and greeting cards. It was all about hand-made stuff and natural products at the Diwali Mela organised by the Institute. In addition to all the fun and zeal was the social cause intended by the Institute. A collective contribution from the Management, students and faculty members made it possible for the Institute to donate a Refrigerator to Anand Niketan Vridh Sewa Ashram.
The Tasveer Society set-up a beautiful photo exhibition reflecting their creative side. The pictures were put on sale to contribute from the institute towards a social cause. The photos beautifully captured the moods and scenery from various aspects of life.
But it wasn’t all work for students. There were various games which attracted the attention of students and faculty members. Students set-up Games stalls like Lucky Seven, Seven Up Seven Down, Break the Pyramid etc. The campus was decorated with diyas and handmade hangings by the students of B.Arch. The pretty Rangolis made by the college students as participants of the Rangoli Competition further beautified the event. Along with the stalls, there was add-on to the fun and frolic through various cultural events organized by the Student Societies of the Institute. The students put up a beautiful show through their dances, plays and other cultural events. There was a Theme-based Class Room Decoration competition with the theme of State of India. The Director General, Honorable Mr. Justice Bhanwar Singh blessed the students on this auspicious occasion. The celebrations came to an end on a happy note wishing all a very Happy Diwali.
Swacch Bharat Mission was launched as a national movement on October 2nd 2014. The Ministry of Human Resource Development in association with the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation launched a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2018,in which an opportunity was given to all the students of colleges and higher educational institutions across India to take the initiative of being a part of this mission, and they were expected to take up a project of promotion of cleanliness, by spending an approximate duration of 100 hours in the village selected by the student.
A team of 10 enthusiastic students from Delhi Technical Campus headed by AJAY KUMAR YADAV of B.TECH(EEE) along with his team members selected the village of BAJARPUR of the DANKAUR block in GAUTAM BUDDHANAGAR district and planned and carried out various cleanliness activities such as cleaning of government school,educating the students of the village school about cleanliness and personal hygiene, door to door counselling and several awareness programmes. The report of this programme was submitted to the GGSIP University, Delhi and also to the ministry of HRD. An interview session cum project evaluation was carried out in the IP University and the group was selected as the best group of the institute and were awarded a certificate of appreciation/merit by the ministry of HRD, Government of India. The efforts of the students were very commendable.
A condolence meet was done on 18th of February in the amphitheater of the college campus by the college students and management together. Candle lighting along with prayers was done for the departed souls who laid their lives for the country in the Pulwama attack in J&K. A small initiative of donation drive was taken up by the students for helping the families of the soldiers. In this regard management, faculty members and students have financially contributed for this noble cause prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
