Women Cell

Women Cell of Delhi Technical Campus was formed to spread awareness amongst female students regarding women’s constitutional, legal, and social rights to prevent gender-based exploitation and instill self-confidence for their empowerment. The Women Cell organizes various events and activities to achieve its objectives. Tables B.10.1.3l shows the Women Cell for 2022-23, 2021-22, 2020-21 and 2019-20.

  • Constitution Day Celebration :

Theme of the Activity: Fundamental Rights of Women in Indian Constitution and their Status in India

Brief Description of the Activity:
The Women Cell of Delhi Technical Campus organized a session on the Fundamental Rights of Women in the Indian Constitution and their Status in India on 17th January 2023, Tuesday. Honorable Justice Mr. Bhanwar Singh, Director General, Delhi Technical Campus was the guest speaker. He addressed around 150 people. Dr. Ranjeet Verma, Director, DTC, Dr. Pranay Tanwar, Dean Academics, DTC, all the HODs, faculty members, and students attended the enlightening session.

Honorable Justice Mr. Bhanwar Singh sensitized the audience with the rights of women in general and also discussed the duties of men towards women in their workplace. He motivated female students to be independent and self-sufficient in every sphere of life and cited real-life examples of brave women who fought for their rights. In the end, he gave best wishes to the students. A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Anupama Sharma, head of Women’s Cell.

  • Safety Awareness :

Theme of the Activity: The importance of awareness for safety of women in society

Brief Description of the Activity:
The Women Cell of Delhi Technical Campus organized an event on ‘Safety Awareness’ on 20th January 2023, Friday. IG Smt. Laxmi Singh, commissioner of Police, Noida was the guest speaker. She addressed around 200 people. Mr Vipin Sahni, Chairman, DTC, Mrs Kiran Sahni, Chairperson, DTC, Honorable Justice Mr Bhanwar Singh, Director General, DTC, Dr Ranjeet Verma, Director, DTC, Dr Pranay Tanwar, Dean Academics, DTC, all the HODs, faculty members and students attended the enlightening session.

Smt Laxmi Singh discussed the importance of awareness for the safety of women in society. She discussed all the real-life challenges faced in providing safety for women and young girls. She inspired the young students to not get indulged in inhuman practices which lead to crime. She motivated students to be healthy and responsible citizens. She introduced Mission Shakti to the audience. She gave best wishes to the students. A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Anupama Sharma, head of Women’s Cell. The event ended with National Anthem.

  • International Women’s Day :

Theme of the Activity: Celebration of International Women’s Day
Activity Date(s): 10 March 2023 No. of Participants: 41
Brief Description of the Activity:
The Women Cell of Delhi Technical Campus celebrated International Women’s Day on 10th March 2023 with a talk on “Women Behind Success Stories of Men, with the aim of raising awareness about the status and dignity of women among the students and faculty members. The speakers of the program were Hon’ble Mr. Vipin Sahni, Chairman of DTC, and Hon’ble Justice Mr. Bhanwar Singh, Director General of DTC. The program began with the lamp lighting ceremony, and felicitation of the dignitaries by the Chairman of the Women Cell, Prof.(Dr.) Anupama Sharma. The Chairperson of DTC, Mrs. Kiran Sahni, and Director Prof(Dr.) Ranjit Verma was also present. Mr. Vipin Sahni shared his own success story and emphasized the role of his mother and wife in all his achievements. This was taken forward by Justice Mr. Bhanwar Singh, Director General DTC who delineated the important role of women in the success stories of various famous men and how they all had been an inevitable part in their husband’s success like Narayan Murthy & Sudha Murthy, Barack Obama & Michelle Obama, Mark Zuckerberg & Priscilla Chan, Albert Einstein & Mileva Einstein-Maric to name a few. The program concluded with a beautiful self-composed poem by Mr. Rohit Gupta and the distribution of planters and a gift to all the female staff as a token of appreciation.
